Kelsey from Key Largo, FL says:

I went on a fishing charter with Amoray recently and had a great time. I live in Key Largo and was looking for ways to entertain a visiting guest from Ohio. My friend had never been off shore fishing before so, after a few recommendations from local pals, I chose this company for our outing. We signed up for the full day (8 hours) charter that was to depart at 8am and return at 4pm. We were met at 7:45am by eager, smiling faces. Captain Tayne took our belongings and ensured that they were stored in a dry compartment before helping us onto the boat. We were then introduced to the owner, Justin. We were lucky to have Justin join the charter as he was able to captain while Tayne gave us his full attention. Since we were both new to the sport, Tayne showed us everything from how to catch live bait to reeling in the fish biting our hooks.
They first took us to a reef site at Molasses Reef to catch some small, biting bait. This took us a matter of minutes with Tayne's help and then we were off to a place known as "The Hump". This was a great area! As far as I could gather, The Hump was a pinnacle that on either side was 600ft while the top rested around 250ft or so. We ended up catching 16 Blackfin Tuna! All were keepers (except for two that were attacked by bigger fish once hooked!) and we ended up splitting up the fish amongst the other two customers and the two staff members. (It was too bad that the two Dolphin Fish that we caught were not keepers.) Tayne even showed us how to filet them after we returned to the dock.
Since everyone hit it off so well on the boat we all decided to grab lunch in Islamorada at Island Grill. We had a great late lunch with interesting conversation. Justin and Tayne were just so happy to offer up stories and tips on fishing.
Even though we had only paid for 8 hours on the charter, we didn't end up back at the dock until 7pm. After the charter and the fish filet lessons afterward, we had a total of 13 hours (not including the time it took them to set up the boat and wash down afterwards) with superb service from Tayne and Justin.
I was so pleased with Amy Slate's Amoray Dive Resort and our charter that I will refer any guests to them and will continue using them for myself. They also run scuba/snorkel charters, sunset cruises and accommodation. ;)
