By Steve Waters : South Florida Sun-Sentinel :
Janice Brennan of Rochester Hills, Mich., caught and killed a 90-inch sailfish on her first offshore fishing trip on Lady Pamela II. "We visited the taxidermist to discuss our mounting [of the fish] and they thought I caught it in Mexico because of the size," Brennan said.

    Mariano from Miami, FL says:

First of all, Captain does does not answer phone, making it impossible to make a reservation.
When I arrived at the dock, the boat looked old, dirty, wreaked of fish guts, and looks like it could easily sink!
The captain is not very helpful or friendly to newbies who haven't been fishing before, so I decided not to go on the boat.
I found a much better & cheaper option called Fishingheadquarters right nearby.

Jesus Rivera from Las Vegas, Nevada says:

Let me start off by saying, thank you Capt. Adam and Joel. We started the day with a safety briefing. They explained where we were going to fish, how we were going to fish, tips on reeling in the fish and much more. We started by fishing near a sunken barge ship. Once the live bait reached the depth of 150’-200’, we hooked a large fish in 2-3 minutes. After 10 minutes of fighting and reeling, we pulled in a 40" Golden Amberjack. Minutes after, we caught a 29" king mackerel. For the next 4 hours it was none, stop. At one point we had 3 strikes on 3 of the 5 reels, that was a lot of excitement. We caught over 16 fish. (2 tunas, 12 king mackerels and 2 other fish whose name I forgot). Around 1130 the Capt. decided it was time to catch bigger fish. Joel set 3 lines of bait at different deeps along with chum bait. They set 1 line at 20', 2nd line at 150' and the last around 300'. At that point, we just waited for the chum bait to do its job and lure in the big fish. About 10-15 minutes after the lines were in place, the right rigger set at 20' got something. From there, all hell broke loose. 2 from my party started reeling in the line while the rest reeled the other 2 lines to avoid them from getting tangled up. Capt. Adam and Joel directed on what needed to be done. The 2 guys reeling in the unknown fish, struggled so 3 more jumped in to help. At one point, the fish almost pulled one of our guys in the water. That's when we knew it was a big one. Finally, we decided to put our biggest guy on the reel. Even he was struggling! At the point it was a team effort to bring whatever was on the end of the line. After 15 minutes of fighting and still a long way to bring it in, the Capt. shouted that it was a Hammerhead Shark. Everyone on boat was screaming and yelling with excitement. Everyone was waiting to lay eyes on the shark. So finally, after 25-30 minutes we pulled in the hammerhead shark measuring 69". WOW, what a great catch to end the trip! Overall, the fishing trip was excellent. Again, thanks to Capt. Adam and Joel for making this trip the BEST fishing experience, we have ever had.

TERRIBLE EXPERIENCE - DON'T WASTE YOUR TIME OR MONEY!!

My husband and I purchased vouchers through travel zoo for a half day drift fishing trip. My husband called to reserve our spot ahead of time and after driving an hour to get there we watched them let people on the boat that had no reservations, but were paying with cash and then told us sorry we are over booked (by 5 people!!!), you will have to come back another day. They were rude and had zero customer service. Come back another day??? No thanks I will just take a loss on the money, I will NEVER give them my business or recommend them to anyone!!!

    Highly Dissatisfied from Indiana says:

My family and I went on the all day dolphin charter. We boarded a 40 foot boat along with 19 other people. They drew numbers for fishing order and we set off. Lets cut to the chase! 22 people on the boat and 10 got the oppurtunity to fish. Make a long story short....12 people that day paid $90 for an 8 hour boat ride and a sun burn. There was barely any room to move around on deck as people were packed on the boat like sardines and when we tried to resolve the issue with the owner he said we should buy our own boat. The most unethical and unprofessional business I have ever delt with and I will warn all who ask about south Florida fishing charters to AVOID the lady pamela. Its a wonder how they are able to sleep at night the way they treat their customers.

APRIL from FORT LAUDERDALE FL says:

This boat doesn't get any stars!!! If there were negative, that's what they would get. I see someone already wrote a review which was exactly what happened to my family. I called 1 month ahead to make reservations, had my husband reconfirm and have an email sent to him with the confirmation. We arrived at the boat yard at 7:39 to find that the boat already left. I called to find out what happened and 7:54 and the guy said he would call his guys to find out what happened and call me back. Needless to say he never returned my phone call and I stayed there until 8:45. I must have called him 30 times in between then and he didn't pick my phone up once, a couple of times he hung up on me. I contacted the BBB and also contacted Travel zoo who I purchased the tickets thru. I am waiting for the responses back. We all lost a day of work and I had a very disappointed 7 year old. DONT EVEN WAIST YOUR TIME, THEY WILL LEAVE YOU!!!! EVEN IF YOU HAVE RESERVATIONS

    Harold from Augusta, Maine says:

We paid $150 each with only four people fishing. We went to a site that we fished for what I think was bait fish for their "big fish" charter then changed locations to catch 1 grouper and one large barracuda that the deck hand caught. As he was reeling it in he asked me if I had a large wall for it. I told him "why you caught it so he gave me the reel and he pulled it onboard. He than threw it back in still hooked so the kid could reel it in. By than it was dead. The captain and deck hand was on the phone the entire time and had the personality of a snail. I wouldn't go with them if they paid me

    Robert G from Ohio says:

They seem very rushed about it. Lots of pressure to keep a trophy fish. Waited hours to get 1 bite then pushed hard to make us keep it and it wasn't even that big. They were very upset when we made them let the fish go and we never had another bite that day. They also made us catch bait during our trip that we never even used.

    Not a great experience.

For my 23rd birthday, my boyfriend surprised me with a fishing trip with Captain David and Captain Pauly. We came down from Staten Island, NY for 3 days and the highlight of our vacation was the 4 hours we spent on the Lady Pamela II catching Sailfish. The crew was so pleasant, helpful and explained every technique so we would have a better understanding of deep sea fishing. I will be back for my second trip with the Lady Pamela II in November and cannot wait. I totally recommend this fishing company to anyone traveling to Fort Lauderdale to have a good time.
